TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHEVROLET INCOMPLETE/CUTAWAY C3. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE BOTTOM PART OF THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FRACTURED. THE GLASS SHATTERED ONTO THE GROUND. THIS WAS A RECURRING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKE. 2 ON LEFT BANK, 1 ON RIGHT, DUE TO EXTREME HEAT IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT. MY MECHANIC SAYS THERE IS SO LITTLE ROOM FOR AIR TO CIRCULATE, AROUND THESE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, THAT THEY GET RED HOT. WHEN THERE ARE WET ROADS, WATER MAY SPLASH UP IN THIS AREA AND CAUSE A FRACTURE ON THESE BOLTS AND MANIFOLDS. MY CONCERN IS THE SAFETY OF ALL THIS HEAT BUILD-UP IN THIS CONFINED AREA. I WAS GOING DOWN A HILL AND APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE CALIPERS ON THE FRONT DID NOT FULLY RELEASE. THE BRAKES GOT REAL HOT ,BOILING THE BRAKE FLUID OUT OF THE SYSTEM. THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTED GOING ALMOST TO FLOOR , CAUSING ME TO HAVE A HARD TIME STOPPING. IT RUINED THE BRAKE PADS, MELTED THE ABS SENSORS, AND RUINED THE BEARING. BRAKE CALIPERS DRAG, OVERHEAT, AND LOCK UP DURING NORMAL OPERATION. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS CAUSED BY LINKAGE BINDING, CAUSING INADEQUATE RELEASE OF CALIPERS. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE A CROSS-COUNTRY TRIP WITH MY MOTORHOME, AND HAD TO BE REPAIRED BY REPLACING ALL CALIPERS, AND PADS IN BRAKE SYSTEM. BRAKE FLUID ALSO BOILED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 CHINOOK DESTINY 2400 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. HE HOOKED UP HIS OBDII SCANNER, WHICH READ THAT THERE WAS A CRANK POSITION SENSOR FAILURE (P0135). THE CONTACT PURCHASED AND INSTALLED THE PART. THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION (EA06016) REGARDING THIS FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 24,640.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET MOTOR HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S FUEL PUMP HAS FAILED EVERY EIGHT MONTHS OR EVERY YEAR. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AND EIGHT MONTHS LATER IT FAILED AGAIN. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 CHEVROLET CUTAWAY G3500. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOOR. THE PARKING GEAR AND EMERGENCY BRAKE FAILED ON MY 1998 WINNEBAGO ITASCA SUNCRUISER MOTORHOME. THE MOTORHOME WAS PARKED IN A FLAT PARKING LOT, PLACED IN PARK WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SET. AFTER ALL PERSONS EXITED THE MOTORHOME, IT ROLLED ACROSS THE FLAT PUBLIC PARKING LOT AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER UNOCCUPIED CAR, CAUSING VEHICLE DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE PARKED CAR AND LEFT SIDE REAR DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR HOME.
